Use the sheriff’s administrative office for written public-record requests and agency routing. Use the detention facility numbers for immediate jail questions. Written sheriff requests may be mailed, faxed, or delivered in person during records hours. The office says it will provide the record, explain a denial, or give a cost and timing position within three business days. Estimated charges may require advance payment.

Choose the route that matches the record or custody type:
- For a county booking sheet or photograph, follow the written-request steps in the Butler County records hub and contact sheriff records.
- For the sheriff’s selected wanted list or a lawful warrant check, use Most Wanted Fugitives, the issuing court, or the sheriff.
- For a new arrest or current county custody, check the newest dated sheriff roster and call detention when timing matters.
- For release notifications, use Kansas VINE or VINELink. It is a custody-alert service, not a photo feed.
- For a qualifying sentenced or supervised state record and photo, use the Kansas Department of Corrections KASPER search.
- For a filed Butler County case and disposition, use Kansas District Court Records. Municipal matters may remain with the issuing city court.
- For federal prison or immigration custody, use the Federal Bureau of Prisons or ICE locator for that custody system.
